The game consists of two teams with five players on the field. The duration of the game is 40 minutes, divided into two parts. The referee is the one who controls the laws of the game.

About futsal players

  • Of the five players, one of them is the goalkeeper or goalkeeper.
  • The game is interrupted if any team remains with less than three players.
  • The players’ equipment of different teams must be well differentiated.
  • For better identification, the archer must have equipment that distinguishes him from the rest.
  • The player cannot have any object that could hurt the opponent, such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

Futsal technical details

  • The field length must be a minimum of 25 x 16 meters. And a maximum of 42 x 25 meters.
  • The ball must be size 4, with a circumference between 62 and 64 centimetres and a weight between 400 and 440 grams, at the beginning of the game.
  • The pitch has several zones: the centre, a circle, the penalty area and the substitution area.
  • The field is made of wood or a similar artificial material.

Fouls

  • All direct fouls count as accumulated fouls.
  • Receiving a free kick can be for kicking, bugging, charging, jumping, pushing, tackling, holding, spitting, and flailing, among others.
  • An indirect free kick resulting from dangerous play or impediment does not count as a foul.
  • The referee warns the team when they have accumulated five fouls in half.
  • Free throws are taken from the spot where the foul occurred. All opponents must be at least 5 meters away.
  • A team can be awarded a shot from the second penalty mark when the other has six or more accumulated fouls.
  • The penalty kick is from the centre of the area.
  • In international games, there must be two referees.
  • Just like in football, there are yellow and red cards.

futsal equipment

The equipment for futsal is not too far from the kit to play soccer; they are shirts with sleeves, shorts, socks, metal, plastic or anime shin guards and shoes with rubber soles.

The goalkeeper is allowed to wear long pants of a different colour to distinguish himself from the rest of the players and the referee. In addition, you are allowed to wear elbow protectors, as the hard surface can cause heavy blows.

As we mentioned, jewellery or decorations are not allowed since these elements can be dangerous for the rest of the players.

Some dress code rules are that if the player wears thermal shorts under the uniform shorts, they must be the same colour as the shorts.

The only type of shoes is cloth or soft leather, with rubber soles or similar material.

Choose futsal boots

When buying futsal boots, you should know they have stiff plastic soles. It can be compared to the one used in basketball or volleyball shoes.

Indoor soccer shoes have a tread pattern that gives optimal traction on shiny surfaces. In addition, they have a thin tongue with minimal padding to improve the feel.

They are generally light, natural or synthetic leather and even plastic. They are very flexible to allow fast runs and dynamic movements. They have a thin midsole that helps to have greater comfort, support and support. In the back, a plastic insert protects the heel.

Look for indoor soccer boots that fit a toe well between the foot and the heel. And that they provide you well. Using them should not be uncomfortable, cause pain or have pressure points.
